In Matthew, God warns Joseph the husband of Mary in a dream, guiding him to settle Jesus and Mary the mother of Jesus in Nazareth. At the Jordan, God’s Spirit descends upon Jesus, and God declares, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” He sends John the Baptist, gives Jesus authority and revelation, and is described as the Father of Peter and the other disciples, caring for them as their heavenly Father.

Through Luke and John, God sends Gabriel to Mary the mother of Jesus, gives Jesus the Spirit without measure, and sends Jesus into the world so it may be saved through him. God teaches and commands Jesus, gives him his work, receives his prayer, and sends the Holy Ghost to teach Jesus’ followers. He is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, makes covenants with Abraham and David, sends Moses, blesses Joseph the patriarch, and is worshipped by Mary the mother of Jesus, Zacharias, Simeon, Anna, Cornelius, Lydia, Justus, Paul, and others.
