Cornelius
Role: centurion · First appears: Acts 10
In Acts 10, Cornelius, a centurion, was devout, feared God with all his household, gave alms to the people, and prayed continually. At Joppa, he sent men to summon Peter for divine instruction, and when Peter arrived at Caesarea the following day, Cornelius met him, fell at his feet, and worshipped him; Peter stopped him and declared that he was only a man.
While Peter spoke, the Holy Ghost fell upon the Gentile hearers, astonishing the circumcised believers with him. Cornelius then followed Peter’s command that the hearers be baptized in the name of the Lord.
