Bilhah bore Jacob a son, Dan, whom Rachel named. During the War With The Ninevites, Dan and Naphtali came to the aid of Issachar and Gad when the Ninevites attacked them. On the third day of the conflict, all of Jacob’s sons joined against the Ninevite host and routed it.

At Mount Seir, Dan was among Jacob’s sons who defeated Esau’s army, pursued the fugitives, and besieged them. Esau’s sons and the other fugitives later submitted to peace, and Jacob’s sons exacted tribute from them.
