Frigg
Also known as: Frigida · Family: Æsir · Role: goddess · First appears: Elder Edda · The Lay of Grimnir · Part 1
In the Lay of Grimnir, Frigg wagered with Odin over whether Geirröd was inhospitable. She sent her servant Fulla to warn Geirröd of an approaching trollmann and tell him the sign by which the stranger could be recognized.
In Oegir’s Compotation, Frigg is described as Odin’s wife and as the daughter of Fiorgyn. In the Fooling of Gylfe, she sends Gna on errands to various worlds; after Balder’s death, Nanna sends her a kerchief and other gifts. In Poetical Diction, Frigg is among the asynjes who accompany Odin and the other gods to Æger’s feast, three months after his invitation.
