In Genesis 30, Leah bore Zebulun to Jacob and named him, saying, “God hath endued me with a good dowry.” By Genesis 35, he was among Jacob’s twelve sons, alongside Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, Benjamin, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.

By Genesis 46, Zebulun had three sons: Sered, Elon, and Jahleel. In Genesis 49, Jacob blessed him among the twelve tribes and charged him with the others regarding his burial. In Deuteronomy 33, Moses blessed Zebulun in his going out, saying, “Rejoice, Zebulun, in thy going out,” while Zebulun’s people would call others to the mountain and offer sacrifices to God.
