The merchant's wife's unnamed younger bird son by Suparṇa (Chapter 012)

Role: king of the birds · First appears: Chapter XII

The merchant’s wife bore Suparṇa a young bird son, who had an elder brother. After Suparṇa’s death, he was installed king of the birds. He carried King Brahmadatta off in his claws and flung him into the sea, then installed his own brother as king in Vārāṇasī.

At Kaśerudvīpa, Suparṇa agreed to carry Suśroṇī there every day and return her each night. Suśroṇī and Āśuga traveled together on Suparṇa’s back toward Vārāṇasī.
