The Legends of the Jews, Volume I

Ham

Role: son · First appears: The Curse Of Drunkenness

Ham saw Noah drunk and told his brothers, Shem and Japheth, what he had noticed. He then attempted an operation to prevent Noah from begetting another son. When Noah awoke, he cursed Ham in the person of Ham’s youngest son, Canaan.

When Ham learned of the curse, he fled with his family and settled in a city he had built, naming it Neelatamauk for his wife, Neelatamauk. In 1569 after the creation of the world, Noah divided the earth by lot among his three sons: the south fell to Ham and the north to Japheth. The brothers then divided their portions among their own children by lot.
