When Noah awoke sober, he cursed Ham “in the person of his youngest son Canaan.” Canaan was the father of Nimrod, whom a speaker called “Nimrod son of Canaan.”
Later, Canaan refused his allotted portion and settled in the land of Lebanon. In the account of Abraham in Canaan, Cush and Mizraim are identified as Canaan’s brothers.
