Nauder
Family: Irán · Role: son of Minúchihr · First appears: The Dream of Sám
When Minúchihr sent Nauder to welcome Sám and Zál as they approached the city, he was still his father’s son and subject. On Minúchihr’s death, the kingdom passed to Nauder, who began his reign promisingly, but before two months had passed he had abandoned his father’s counsel and become oppressive. After Sám interceded, Nauder promised to rule by the principles of Húsheng, Feridún, and Minúchihr, and the kingdom reunited under his sway.
When Poshang raised an army against him, Afrásiyáb advanced to the Jihún before Nauder learned of his approach. Nauder sent his sons Tús and Gustahem with his household toward Irán, directing them to seek refuge on Alberz, but Afrásiyáb captured Nauder and more than a thousand of his warriors. His reign lasted seven years; after releasing him from fetters, Afrásiyáb killed him.
