Pisirodus
Family: Rhodes · Role: Olympic victor · First appears: Book 5 · Chapter 6
At Olympia, Pisirodus won a contest after his mother, Callipatira, dressed him as an athlete and brought him to compete. She was exposed as a woman while leaping over the barrier, but escaped punishment; afterward, a law required athletes to compete naked.
Later, Pisirodus competed disguised as a man while Callipatira dressed as his trainer. After faction drove him and Dorieus (son of Diagoras) from Rhodes, they migrated to Thurii and entered the games as Thurians. Pisirodus also had a statue in the Altis near his maternal grandfather, Diagoras.
