Pharaoh's first-born son
Also known as: the son of Pharaoh / the son of Pharaoh (Section 036) · Family: Egyptians · Role: appointed successor to Pharaoh · First appears: Asenath
As Pharaoh’s appointed successor, he demanded to marry Asenath when she was eighteen, but Pharaoh (Joseph's) refused his request. Later, he proposed killing Joseph, which Simon and Levi refused; he then secured the agreement of Dan, Gad, Asher and Naphtali to attack Joseph. He also tried to reach his father’s bedchamber, but the palace guard barred him.
His forces later ambushed Asenath and her attendants, forcing her to flee. After Benjamin wounded him, Levi restrained Benjamin from killing him, tended his wounds and took him to Pharaoh (Joseph's). “Levi's efforts were vain, three days later the son of Pharaoh died of the wounds inflicted by Benjamin”
