Electra

First appears: Apollodorus, Library 1.2

🌐 Also appears in: Greek Tragedy — The Same Myth, Three Voices (as Electra)

Electra is named among the Oceanids born to Ocean and Tethys. In Hesiod, she married Thaumas and bore Iris, Aello, and Ocypetes.

She is also described as a daughter of Atlas and Pleione, one of the Pleiades, and as the mother of Iasion and Dardanus by Zeus. In another account, she was a daughter of Agamemnon and sister to Orestes, whom she smuggled away; she was later united in marriage to Pylades.
