Polypoetes
First appears: Apollodorus, Library 1.7
🌐 Also appears in: The Iliad (as Polypoetes)
In Apollodorus’s Library 1.7, Aetolus killed Polypoetes among his hosts, while another account names Polypoetes as a son of Phthia and Apollo. In the Epitome 3, he is identified as a Gyrtonian and the son of Pirithous, commanding thirty ships.
In the Epitome 6, Polypoetes left his ships at Ilium and journeyed by land to Colophon with Amphilochus, Calchas, Leonteus, and Podalirius. The Epitome 7 also presents him as the son of Odysseus and Callidice, and lists him among the suitors of Penelope, one of fifty-seven men who came from Dulichium.
