Arrhabaeus

Family: Lyncestians · Role: king · First appears: Book 4 · Chapter 14 · Part 1

In Book 4, Section 14, Arrhabaeus is identified as the son of Bromerus and king of the Lyncestians. Perdiccas wished to subdue him, but at the pass into Lyncus, Brasidas held a parley and persuaded Perdiccas to withdraw without invading. Brasidas had also proposed persuading Arrhabaeus to become an ally of Lacedaemon, with Arrhabaeus having offered to make Brasidas arbitrator between them.

Later, at Lyncus, Arrhabaeus’s forces fought Brasidas and Perdiccas and were defeated with heavy loss. The Illyrians then betrayed Perdiccas and joined Arrhabaeus.
