the hunter's wife (Jeebi legend)

Role: wife · First appears: The Jeebi; or, Two Ghosts

In The Jeebi; or, Two Ghosts, the hunter’s wife (Jeebi) lived with the hunter (Jeebi legend) and their child in a lodge far from others. One winter evening she welcomed the two strange females (Jeebi legend) into the lodge. They explained that they had come from the land of the dead to test the living, gave the couple instructions about a future life, and blessed them. When the wife’s anger showed that their presence had become irksome, the females announced their departure.

The hunter later had many children, who grew up healthy and to manhood.
