Rho Cloud · launching with the app

Share free. Publish for $5.

The line isn't whether you use the cloud — it's what you use it for. Sharing with people you know is free, forever. Five dollars a month buys the thing only a platform can give you: distribution to strangers.

Four verbs. One honest boundary.

Free

Read

Open any shared link and use the full app — zero account. Your readers never sign up, never log in.

Free

Store

Upload your documents to the cloud with a free account — 50 MB of document bytes, counted by size, not by count.

Free

Share a private link

Anyone with the link can read — no login. Unlisted means unlisted: private links never enter the index, search, or discovery.

$5/mo

Publish to the world

Your work enters the public index — searchable, on the discovery page, under your author page, organized into collections. Psi library sync rides along.

The gate sits on being discovered, not on being read. Free private links keep your documents moving; $5 pays for the only thing that's genuinely the platform's to sell — reach.

How it works

1

Upload from the app

One command in Rho MD sends the document you're looking at to your cloud space.

2

Send the link

Every upload gets a short link — rho.md/p/…. Whoever has it can read the live, interactive document.

3

Flip it public — if you want

Publishing adds your work to the index and your author page at rho.md/@you. That's the paid switch — and it's reversible.

Questions, answered.

Do my readers need an account?

No. Reading is free with zero account — that's a hard rule. Only uploading requires (free) sign-in, because storage and takedown responsibility need an owner.

What counts against the 50 MB?

The bytes of your .md files — embedded images included. Psi metadata and graph data don't count.

Why is publishing paid but sharing free?

A private link costs the platform almost nothing and earns you nothing from strangers. The index, search, discovery, and an author page are distribution — that's the increment worth paying for, and the only place the meter runs.

What do I declare when I publish?

An originality attestation — you confirm the work is yours to publish. It keeps the public index clean and is part of how takedowns stay fair.
