Julia the Younger
Also known as: Julia / Julia (grand-daughter) / Julia (granddaughter) · Family: Julio-Claudian · Role: granddaughter of Augustus · First appears: Augustus 64
Julia was the granddaughter of Augustus, the daughter of Agrippa and Julia the Elder, and the sister of Caius Caesar (grandson of Augustus), Lucius, Agrippa Postumus, and Agrippina the Elder. In Augustus 64, Augustus married her to Lucius Paulus, the censor’s son: “Julia he married to Lucius Paulus, the censor’s son”.
In Augustus 65, Augustus banished Julia and Julia the Elder for lewdness and debauchery. After Julia gave birth to a child, Augustus forbade the child to be acknowledged or raised as a relation. In Augustus 72, he demolished several sumptuous palaces built by Julia, and in Augustus 101 he ordered that Julia and Julia the Elder not be buried in his tomb if anything happened to them.
