Erp

First appears: Elder Edda · Gudrun's Incitement

In Gudrun’s Incitement, Erp is one of the three sons of Gudrun and Jonakr, alongside Sorli and Hamdir. When Gudrun urged her sons to avenge Svanhild and gave them armor, Erp was not among those who set out.

On the way, Hamdir and Sorli killed their brother Erp after dismissing his offer of aid. The Poetical Diction says, “So they killed Erp, for she loved him the most.”
