The Five Books of Moses

Enoch

Role: son of Cain · First appears: Genesis 4

In Genesis 4, Cain fathered Enoch: “And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch:” Enoch was the father of Irad. In Genesis 5, Jared also fathered Enoch, and Enoch lived sixty-five years before fathering Methuselah.

After he begat Methuselah, Enoch walked with God for three hundred years and begat sons and daughters. He continued to walk with God until “he was not; for God took him,” and he was no longer present among the living.
