Prince Kṛishṇa

Also known as: Kṛishṇa · Role: son of Viśvaṇtara and Madrī · First appears: Chapter XVI

In Chapter XVI, Prince Kṛishṇa left the city with his father, Viśvaṇtara, his mother, Madrī, and his sister, Princess Jālinī, as they went to the forest. At the penance-forest, Viśvaṇtara gave both children to a Brahman who asked for them.

When Madrī had set off for the hermitage, Viśvaṇtara told her, “A Brahman came to me full of hope. To him have I given the two children.” Afterwards, the Brahman brought the children back to the city and attempted to sell them, and King Viśvāmitra summoned them.
