Vidossava

Role: consort of Voivode Momtchilo · First appears: Chapter XI · The Marriage of King Voukashin · Part 1

In Chapter XI · The Marriage of King Voukashin, Part 1, at Skadar on Boyana, King Voukashin urged Vidossava to betray her husband, Momtchilo, promising, “I will gladly espouse thee and thou shalt become my queen.” At Pirlitor she gave Voukashin a plan to defeat Momtchilo, then burned the wings of Yaboutchilo and tied what remained beneath the steed’s belt. She also dipped Momtchilo’s favourite sword in salted blood.

In Part 2, Vidossava cut the linen as Momtchilo climbed, and he fell among Voukashin’s forces. After Momtchilo was killed, she welcomed Voukashin to her tower and offered him wine and food. Voukashin ordered his servants to bind her to four horses; she was torn to pieces alive.
