Ferámurz
Family: Zábul · Role: warrior · First appears: The Story of Saiáwush · Part 7
At Túrán, Ferámurz took Sarkhá, the son of Afrásiyáb, prisoner. In the Story of Saiáwush, he fought Pílsam until nightfall. Later, in the Story of Barzú, and his Conflict with Rustem, he arrived to relieve Rustem’s anxiety about the coming combat. Rustem dressed him in his own armor and sent him to face Barzú as the warrior who had fought him the day before; Ferámurz struck and captured Barzú alive.
In the Story of Súsen and Afrásiyáb, Ferámurz took Zál’s place to fight Pílsam, then joined Rustem in rescuing Barzú when the Túránians surrounded him. Kai-khosráu later directed him to invade Hindústán and join Gúdarz’s army. In the Capture of the Brazen Fortress, Ferámurz slew Mehrnús.
After Rustem’s death, Zál sent Ferámurz to Kábul to bring back the body. Ferámurz laid waste the country, captured the king, and took him to Sístán, where he was put to death. In Bahman, Bahman’s army defeated Ferámurz’s forces; wounded and insensible, Ferámurz was captured, and Bahman ordered him hanged.
