In 627, Wuscfrea, a son of Edwin and Ethelberg, was baptized with his siblings Ethelhun and Ethelthryth. He was also the sibling of Osfrid and Eadfrid, and Paulinus was his mentor.

In 633, Ethelberg sent Wuscfrea and Yffi to Gaul, where they were to be bred up by King Dagobert, her friend, because she feared Eadbald and Oswald. “and there they both died in infancy”.
