When Dinah bore a daughter named Asenath, her union with Shechem, the son of Hamor, was described as the source of Asenath, who was afterward Joseph’s wife. Later, at Shechem, Levi’s testament recounts that he slew Shechem in vengeance for Dinah: “I slew Shechem first of all”.
