In Fable 56, Diana and Apollo avenged their mother, Latona, by killing Niobe’s daughters, leaving Niobe childless. In Fable 68, Diana’s dog and javelin were given by Procris to Cephalus. At Calydon in Fable 73, Diana sent a boar to ravage Œneus’s lands after he neglected her altar; at length, she bore his mourning daughters Eurymede and Melanippe aloft on wings.
