Joah
Family: Judah · Role: recorder · First appears: Isaiah 36
Joah was a recorder in Judah and the son of Asaph. In Isaiah 36, he went with Eliakim and Shebna to Rabshakeh, asking him to speak in Syrian rather than the Jews’ language, and heard his command to tell Hezekiah, “What confidence is this wherein thou trustest?” Joah then returned to Hezekiah with Eliakim and Shebna, their clothes rent, and reported Rabshakeh’s words.
