Role: god · First appears: Origin Legend II: Early Events in the Fifth World · Part 5

In Origin Legend II: Early Events in the Fifth World · Part 5, the son of Hastséhogan gave Hastséyalti beads and shells to distribute among the gods. In Origin Legend III: The War Gods · Part 2, Hastséyalti raced Nayénezgani and To`badzistsíni and won, while the boys came home with sore backs. In Origin Legend IV: Growth of the Navaho Nation · Part 1, he promised Yolkaí Estsán he would return with Estsánatlehi and other gods to help her, and the gods transformed two ears of corn into a man and a woman. In Part 2, he spoke privately with Yolkaí Estsán, gave her two ears of corn, and returned three days later to speak with her again.

In Nati'nesthani · Part 2, Hastséyalti warned Nati'nesthani by signs not to enter a log and told him to go home. He and Hastséhogan summoned Nati'nesthani, and, with permission from Nati'nesthani's niece, he took her turkey. The gods turned the rainbow toward a new direction and carried him away, with Hastséyalti at the front and Hastséhogan behind him. At Tsé`tadi in Part 3, Hastséyalti brought Nati'nesthani to a house in the rock among divine people, supplied him with food, water, and a white cloud for bedding, and helped wrap him in the cloud and place him in a log. The gods carried the log to the river, aided by the winds.
