History of the Kings of Britain

Lot

Also known as: Lot of Londonesia · Family: Britons · Role: consul and knight · First appears: Book VIII 20–23

Lot of Londonesia is a Briton consul and knight. In Book VIII, Uther Pendragon gave him Anne in marriage and, during the king’s illness, entrusted him with care of the kingdom and command of the British army against Octa and Eosa. “Out of respect to his eminent merits, the king had given him his daughter Anne, and entrusted him with the care of the kingdom, during his illness.”

By Book IX, Lot was one of three royal brothers with Urian and Augusel. At York, Arthur restored him to the consulship of Londonesia and his other provinces; Lot, who had married the sister of Aurelius Ambrosius, was the father of Walgan and Modred. Arthur later sought the Norwegian crown for him, while Sichelin, Lot’s uncle, had appointed him successor to Norway; after conquering the country, Arthur established Lot on its throne.

In Book X, Lot is named as king of the Norwegians alongside Aschillius, king of the Dacians, when Arthur arranged his forces at Suesia.
