Greek Mythology

Astyoche

Family: Theban · Role: daughter of Niobe · First appears: Apollodorus, Library 2.7

Astyoche, a Theban and daughter of Niobe, is listed among Niobe’s daughters. In Library 2.7, she is connected with Phylas and Heracles; Tlepolemus is identified as her son by Heracles, and another account calls him “son of Hercules and Astyoche.”

In Library 3.12, Astyoche is described as the daughter of Simoeis and wife of Erichthonius, with whom she became the mother of Tros. The same section names an Astyoche among Laomedon’s daughters; in the Epitome, she is listed as a sister of Priam, Aethylla, and Medesicaste.
