Glas

Also known as: Glas, son of Bremen / Glas, son of Dremen · Family: Fianna · Role: son of Bremen · First appears: The Fianna · The Battle of the White Strand · The Enemies of Ireland

After Finn expelled Glas from Ireland for treachery, Glas offered the King of the World a guide to an Irish harbour for the invading army. At Teamhair Luachra, he and Conn Crither discovered they were of one blood and agreed to fight together; they killed the strangers sent against them. Glas then asked that Madan of the Bent Neck, whom he had called a friend, face him alone. They fought hard, and Glas killed Madan, the son of the King of the Marshes.

When the Fianna vowed to defend Ireland, Credhe gave them battle dress and went with them, bringing cattle and tending the wounded through the battle that lasted a year and a day. Glas joined Caoilte, Oisin, Lugaidh's Son and Conn Crither in attacking the strangers who came ashore, and together they destroyed them all.
