Heru-Behutet
Also known as: Heru Behutet / Horus of Heben · Family: Egyptian gods · Role: god · First appears: The Legend of Horus of Behutet and the Winged Disk · Part 1
In the Legend of Horus of Behutet and the Winged Disk, Ra calls Heru-Behutet his son and sends him against his enemies. At Edfu, Heru-Behutet and his followers slay the crocodiles and hippopotami threatening Ra, and the city Teb and several of his places and objects receive names associated with him. He later takes the form of the Winged Disk and attacks the enemies; after pursuing them through the swamps, he slays them at Heben. Ra-Harmachis also declares him “my exalted son who didst proceed from Nut.”
At the Lake of Mertet, Heru-Behutet slaughters more enemies, then defeats Set at Pa-Rerehtu and brings him bound before Ra. At Per-Rehu, Heru-Behutet and Horus, the son of Isis, slaughter the Enemy and his fiends. He continues to destroy the fiends of Set, and later takes the form of a man-faced lion to capture and kill 142 enemies. In another battle, he becomes the Winged Disk, with Nekhebit and Uatchit beside him as serpents; the fiends die from fear.
