Telamon was the son of Aeacus and Endeis, and the brother of Peleus. At Aegina, he and Peleus plotted against their brother Phocus; Telamon killed him with a quoit, and Aeacus expelled them both from Aegina. “But the murder being detected, the two were driven fugitives from Aegina by Aeacus.”
Telamon went to the court of Cychreus at Salamis, and when Cychreus died childless, he bequeathed the kingdom to Telamon. Telamon married Periboea, with whom he had Ajax, and he also had a son, Teucer. During the siege of the city of Laomedon, Telamon breached the wall first, provoking Heracles to rush at him with a sword; afterward, Heracles assigned Hesione, Laomedon’s daughter, to Telamon as a prize.
