Naimes

In Laisses XIII–XVIII, Naimes offers to go to Sarraguce for Charles, but Charles refuses to send him, calling him an old man of wisdom. He is named among Charles’s vassals, “Better vassal there was not in the world.”

In Laisses CCV–CCX, Naimes helps Aceline, Gefrei d'Anjou and Tierri revive Charles and carry him beneath a pine. In Laisses CCXVII–CCXXII, he prepares the fourth column led by Hermans, musters the fifth with Jozeran for Richard, and prepares the seventh, assigning Jozeran and Godselmes to lead it.

In Laisses CCXLVII–CCLII, Naimes kills Malprimes in battle. Canabeus strikes and wounds him, nearly bringing him down, but Charles comes to his aid.
