Priscilla
Family: Christian · Role: tentmaker · First appears: Acts 18
Priscilla, a Christian tentmaker, is married to Aquila. In Acts 18, after Claudius commanded the Jews to leave Rome, she came with Aquila and worked alongside Paul, who shared their craft as a tentmaker. At Ephesus, she and Aquila heard Apollos and instructed him more fully in the way of God: “they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.”
In Romans 16, Paul names Priscilla and Aquila as his helpers in Christ Jesus and says they risked their lives for him: “Who have for my life laid down their own necks.” In 1 Corinthians 16, Priscilla and Aquila send greetings with the church that meets in their house.
