Celtchar
Also known as: Celtchar of Ulster / Celtchar, the son of Uitechar / Celthar · Family: Ulstermen · Role: warrior · First appears: Mac Datho's Boar · Part 1
In Part 1 of Mac Datho’s Boar, Celtchar says he slew Dedad’s son and cut off his head. In Part 2, the Ulster company identifies him as “Celtchar, the son of Uitechar”; Ket says he wounded Celtchar through the leg and groin, leaving him diseased and unable to have children from that hour. In Part 2 of The Sick-bed of Cuchulain, a verse speaks conditionally of what Cuchulain would do if Celthar were kept sick; it does not recount an event between them.
