Zitidos
Also known as: Job's unnamed wife (Section 054) · Role: Job's wife · First appears: Job'S Suffering
During Job’s suffering, Zitidos advised Job to pray to God for death so that he could leave as an upright man. After sharing her bread with him, she was dismissed from her water-carrier service. To keep Job from starving, she cut off her hair and bought bread.
In The Four Friends, Eliphaz placed his royal purple mantle around her shoulders to cover her rags. Job revealed that their deceased children were with the Ruler of heaven, crowned with glory. Zitidos later returned to her master’s house, where she died of exhaustion beside the cattle manger. During the years of his trials, after her death, Job married Dinah, his second wife.
