Ganyetor
First appears: The Contest of Homer and Hesiod · Part 2
At Oenoe in Locris, Ganyetor and Amphiphanes, sons of Phegeus, hosted Hesiod, unknowingly fulfilling the oracle. They later killed him, suspecting him of seducing their sister, and cast his body into the sea. According to one account, the brothers fled by boat toward Crete; when they had completed half the voyage, Zeus sank them with a thunderbolt.
Eratosthenes gives a different account, saying that Ctimenus and Antiphus, sons of Ganyetor, killed Hesiod for the same reason. The account also says the brothers killed Demodes.
