Perses
First appears: Apollodorus, Library 1.2
🌐 Also appears in: The Metamorphoses of Ovid (as Perses)
In Apollodorus, Perses was born to Crius and Eurybia, and with Asteria became the father of Hecate. He was the brother of Aeetes, who was deposed by him, and an enemy of Medea, who killed him and restored the kingdom to her father.
Perses was also the father of Perseus, whom Perseus had by Andromeda before coming to Greece and left behind with Cepheus. In Hesiod, Asteria was the wife whom Perses led to his great house.
