Amaziah

In Amos 7, Amaziah, priest of Bethel, reports to Jeroboam that Amos has conspired against him, saying, “the land is not able to bear all his words.” At Bethel, he orders Amos to flee to Judah and stop prophesying there, but God condemns Amaziah’s household, declares that he will die in a polluted land, and announces that Israel will go into captivity.
