Pascentius
Family: Britons · Role: son of Vortigern · First appears: Book VI 12–14
Pascentius was the son of Vortigern and brother to Vortimer and Catigern, one of the three sons named in Book VI: “For he had already three sons, whose names were Vortimer, Catigern, and Pascentius.”
In Book VIII, after fleeing to Germany, Pascentius raised its forces against Aurelius Ambrosius to avenge Vortigern’s death, but the invasion was defeated and driven from Britain. After this flight, he entered a military confederacy with Gillomanius in Ireland, prepared a fleet, and arrived at Menevia; he also entered into a covenant with Eopa and confirmed his promise by oath. Uther Pendragon marched against them, and near the close of the day the deaths of Gillomanius and Pascentius secured Uther’s victory.
