Guenelon
Family: Cornwall · Role: baron · First appears: Chapter 3 · Part 1
Guenelon was a baron of Cornwall and one of four barons who hated Tristan for his greatness and for the tender love King Mark bore him. In Chapter 3, he joined Andret, Gondoïne, and Denoalen in turning many of Cornwall’s chief men against Tristan and pressing King Mark to marry for an heir: “They brought over the greater part of the barons and these pressed King Mark to take to wife some king’s daughter who should give him an heir”. King Mark gave the barons forty days to hear his decision.
By Chapter 8 at Morois, Guenelon was pursuing Tristan as one of the traitors. Gorvenal, remembering the wrong Guenelon had done, ambushed him, seized his rein, and hewed him to death, carrying off his head.
