Gondoïne

Also known as: Gondoin · Family: Cornwall · Role: baron · First appears: Chapter 3 · Part 1

In Chapter 3, Gondoïne, also called Gondoin, was one of four Cornish barons—alongside Andret, Guenelon, and Denoalen—who hated Tristan and turned many of Cornwall’s chief men against him. They pressured King Mark to marry a king’s daughter and secure an heir, after which Mark gave them forty days to hear his decision.

By Chapter 11, with Tristan far overseas, Gondoïne joined Denoalen and Andret in approaching King Mark during a hunt. Mark, having exiled Tristan because of them, turned against the three barons as well: “Out of my land, and out of my peace, all of you!”
