Serah was the daughter of Hadorah and Malchiel, and was raised in Jacob’s house. When she sang to Jacob that Joseph, her uncle, was alive and ruled Egypt, his joy restored his prophetic spirit.

Serah entered Paradise alive. Three days and nights before the exodus, she told Moses that Joseph’s leaden coffin had been sunk in the Nile. At Moses’ return, she recognized him as the promised redeemer after hearing that his words matched those Asher had quoted, and the people believed in him.
