Pallas

Family: Giants · Role: giant · First appears: Apollodorus, Library 1.2

Pallas was born to Crius and Eurybia. In Hesiod’s account, he was joined to Styx and became the father of Zelus, Nike, Cratos, and Bia; Apollodorus instead names Dominion and Violence among their children.

At Olympus, Styx came with their children, and Zeus honored her by making her the gods’ great oath and keeping her children with him always: “So deathless Styx came first to Olympus with her children through the wit of her dear father.” Later, Pallas was an enemy of Athena, who “flayed Pallas and used his skin to shield her own body in the fight.”
