The Wars of the Jews

Borceus

Family: Agrippa's party · Role: ambassador · First appears: Book II, Chapter 19

In Book II, Chapter 19, Borceus, an ambassador of Agrippa’s party, was sent with Phebus because they were the persons of their party best known to those they approached; they promised that Cestius would give them his right hand as assurance of the Romans’ forgiveness if they threw away their arms and came over to them. The seditious Jews then slew Phebus before he could speak, while Borceus was wounded and escaped by fleeing.
