In Book III, Aeneas rescued Glaucus’s companion’s corpse and returned it to his grieving friends, before Ajax son of Telamon wounded him in the right forearm and drove him back to Troy. At Troy in Book VI, Eurypylus chose him among the champions who led the Trojans out to fight; in Book VI, Aeneas joined Paris’s assault, struck Ajax son of Oileus unconscious with a stone, and killed Antimachus and Pheres.
In Book VIII · Part 1, Aeneas killed Aristolochus; in Book VIII · Part 2, he smote down Dymas. In Book X, he urged the Trojans to leave their walls and fight; in the battle that followed, he killed Harpalion, Hyllus, Deileon, and Amphion. In Book XI, he killed Bremon and Andromachus, then fought beside Eurymachus as the Greeks fled. He killed the son of Anthalus in Book XI, before Aphrodite hid him in mist and took him from the battle.
At the wall in Book XI, Ares aided Aeneas as he drove the Argives back; Aeneas shattered Alcimedon’s ladder and killed Toxaechmes with a stone. In Book XIII, as Troy burned, he escaped with his father Anchises and his son: “His son and father alone he snatched from death”.
