Phorcys
Also known as: Phorcus · First appears: Apollodorus, Library 1.2
🌐 Also appears in: The Metamorphoses of Ovid (as Phorcys)
Phorcys, also known as Phorcus, was born to Pontus and Earth, alongside Thaumas, Nereus, Eurybia, and Ceto. He was joined to Ceto, and together they had the Phorcides and Gorgons—among them Enyo, Pephredo, Dino, Pemphredo, Sthenno, Euryale, and Medusa. “And Ceto was joined in love to Phorcys and bare her youngest.”
In another account, Phorcys was a son of Aretaon, alongside Ascanius. Scylla is also named as a daughter of Crataeis and Trienus or Phorcus.
