Galinginayen

Role: boy · First appears: Tale 22 · Part 1

In Tale 22 · Part 1, Gamayawán named the baby Galinginayen and used magic when bathing him, making him grow and, before long, fly. When it became day, she took him to Kadalayapan and left him beside the sleeping Aponitolau, who is called Ligi in the tale. Ligi woke, found the boy beside him with his lost balangat, and was surprised; that afternoon Gamayawán came to take Galinginayen back.

In Tale 22 · Part 2, Ligi again found Galinginayen beside him when he woke, and they hid the boy. Five days later, Ligi proposed building a balaua and making Sayang to find the boy’s mother. Galinginayen recognized the Agta as his mother and wanted to go to her, but did not when she winked at him.
