Wolf (Tale 7)
Role: wolf · First appears: Tale 7 · Why White Ants Always Harm Man’s Property
In Tale 7, Wolf and Leopard frightened Anansi into dropping his antelope meat, took it home and prepared supper. Anansi tricked them into being hung on a tree, then reclaimed the meat while his family mocked them. The next morning, White Ant and his family destroyed the tree and freed Wolf and Leopard.
On the third day, Wolf and Leopard welcomed Anansi’s disguised children and served them the feast meant for the ants. Soon after they left, the two hosts mistook the real ants for Anansi and his family, poured boiling water over them, and killed all except their father.
