The Boy's Froissart

Peter Wisant

Family: Calais · Role: citizen · First appears: Book 1, Chapter 65, part 2/2

At Calais, Peter Wisant offered himself as a companion to the citizens who had volunteered to surrender, following his brother James Wisant. The six citizens were delivered by Lord John de Vienne to Sir Walter Manny, who promised to do what he could to save them. They then gave themselves up to the king, bringing the keys of the castle and town in the hope of saving the remaining inhabitants.

The king ordered the six citizens executed, but relented after the queen pleaded for mercy. She freed them, provided clothing and money, and had them escorted safely out of the camp.
